The Quai d'Orsay brand was founded by Cubatabaco in 1973 as export- oriented as the most part of its products was to go to French customers through the French state tobacco monopoly, SEITA (La Societe Nationale d'Exploitation Industriel de Tabac et Allumettes). The name of the brand is also related to France. According to one version, the company was named after the famous Paris avenue on the left bank of the Seine. Another version states that it honors the French Foreign Ministry that is located on this avenue, and there is also a version that it refers to the SEITA headquarters which are also located on this avenue.
Quai d'Orsay was managed by SEITA for some time, but given the packaging and Habanos S.A. documents, the brand is still under the umbrella of the Cuban state tobacco company.
The company produces three hand-made vitolas, including the Corona (Coronas), the Imperial (Churchills) and the Panetela (slim Panetelas). All Quai d'Orsay cigars rather use the light wrapper, in accordance with the taste of French customers. These cigars are delicious, medium-bodied, solid-extured and have great burning features.
